.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? This is a tough question. Theoretically speaking, I am 21 years old. However I do not always feel this way. There are days when (if I didn't know that was my given age) subconciously, I would peg myself as being very young, because there are times when I feel very ignorant and full of wonder. Other days, I feel as though I have been around for so long because I feel different about certain things than others my age and have a different way of thinking. This question is hard to answer.
.Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying is worse in my opinion. At the end of the day, it is better to feel as though you gave something your all, rather than to feel inadequate.
.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Good question. Truth is however, there are priorities and responsibilities in life that we simply cannot ignore. In all honesty, if nobody had to work and take care of things, then I am quite sure that we would much rather do what we wanted when we wanted. Sadly, with all the things we need to do in order to make and build a life (and in order to sustain life) it leaves very little time to do what you wanted. This often does leave regret. Reminds me of a wonderful quote though. "Life should be full of surprises, never dull, if you stick to a routine, it gets boring, and therefore becomes nothing more than a routine, ...not a life."
.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? I hope that when it is all said and done I will be able to say otherwise. I hope I will be able to say I've done more than said... though this is only something time will be able to tell. We never know what our future holds in store for us, we can only hope and aspire to do something, never taking any day for granted. Although you have the ability to some extent to control where you're life takes you.
.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? Common sense. Love. Peace. And to put God back into our schools, and quit taking him out of everything. I wish people could look past disagreements and subtle differences in each other and that they could see each other as people, not objects, or merely annoyances. I wish people would not worry so much about themselves, or the clothes that they wear, and start worrying more about what they can do to help others in need. Start seeing people for who they are and not what they can get from a person, or belittle somebody. I wish people were more loving.
.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Photography, and the medical field. The medical field because I love to help people, and I believe that in order to do so, you must WANT to do so. Some people are not meant to be doing that. I'd say photography most though because nothing restores the peace within myself and brings me closer to nature more than being in a wooded area, surrounded by nature and taking photos of god's beautiful creation. Nothing has ever made me feel more 'alive'.
.Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? This can be a two way street. I do stand by what I believe in, and for a while I have to be honest that I was not. I believed differently than how I would act. In terms of my stage in life, I still have firm beliefs and I still believe strongly that I will get to where I desire to be in life. This is only temporary and therfore I have to say a two way street because I am currently settling for what I am doing, while also believing in what I am doing and who i am.
.If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? If the average life span was 40 years, I would definitely take more things into consideration. Life is too short as it is...and people (including myself) have taken too many things for granted, when really every breath is a blessing. I would start living a lot more. Doing more things and spending a lot more time with my family and friends. In actuality, this just made me realize that life is short, and even without a lifespan of 40 years, your life can be taken from you at any moment, so don't hesitate to spend more time with loved ones, tell them you love them, because the day will come when you will not be able to.
.To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? If "control" means "taken responsibility for" the course of which your life has taken, then my answer would be alot. Almost everything that I have done, I knew fully the potential consequences of actions, and I could control things alot better I suppose, because there is always room for improvement.
.Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Both. I worry about doing things the right way because I'm very orderly. However, I also worry very often about doing the right things, and I'm not proud to admit that I don't do them as much as I should.
.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? In my eyes, if they are people who I respect and admire, they wouldn't dare be the type of people to start talking about somebody, reason being because I don't like drama, and I'm pretty sure I would not be admiring anyone who is about it.. however if this were to happen, first off I would tell them straight up that I am in no way a part of this and honestly express my feelings towards my friend, without fear of what the response would be. Secondly, I would then have to re-examine and ask myself where I stand, and re-evaluate what I look for in people and what qualities really should be worthy of admiration.
.If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Listen to advice from your elders, (doesn't mean you have to necessarily take it, but give it some thought) because they often have the best advice and have the best outlooks on life. Do not be afraid of being bullied and picked on for different likes and different personalities, because life is too short. Live life to the fullest degree and love every second of it. Always love and always have god on your side.
.Would you break the law to save a loved one? Yes I would. If it meant saving somebody I dearly loved, I would have to say yes. But I would also have to know to what degree of trouble my loved one was in, if they were in danger, personally it wouldn't matter what law I were to break. Reason being, if they were to be terribly hurt, I couldn't live with knowing that I could have possibly prevented it, and would feel as though I was living a "personal hell". If I were sent to jail because of it, at least I tried, and at least they would be safe. Either way I would be in a sort of "hell".
.Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? Yes, Albert Einstein- But yes, I have always believed that the best/greatest people were the ones who are slightly odd/ different. Creativity is partly about pushing the envelope, so something new and/or different must be done to do so. I also don't believe that there is a such thing as "normal".
.What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Hmm... maybe the way I think about things? Depends on what aspect we are talking about. When it comes to people my own age, plenty. I feel like I was meant to be born long before I was.
.How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? Simply because not everyone is the same. People are different which is what makes life interesting. The things that I find in happiness, someone else may not. Everybody is looking for something different in life, and everyone gets something different out of life as well. It's just the beauty of it.
.What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? There are alot of things I really want to do. I want to skydive. My recent surgery is what is holding me back. I want to get 3 degrees, (medical sonography, photography, and possibly in paralegal) and be a successful woman. I also want to work with pregnant women very badly, there are so many things I want to do. Being a stay at home mom at the moment is only postponing that...but it will happen.
.Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Yes. Plenty of things. I have a hard time letting go of things that I have been attatched too. It's not easy when there is history with something or someone. I just keep trying to tell myself that I deserve better.
.If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? As far as states go, Totally Wyoming all the way. I'm more into country than I am a city girl, all the way. I love wide open spaces, I love how beautiful it is, being able to think,... it's like heaven. Country? I'd have to say Australia, France, or Italy.
.Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? Eh, actually it depends more of the mood I am in. I guess in all reality it doesn't make it go faster, but it's nice to think so :) It sort of serves as a reminder.
.Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? A joyful simpleton. I don't need to be a genius, I don't need to be rich, or have the best clothes or material things. The only thing from life that I really desire is happiness and love. Who would want to be worried all of the time?
.Why are you, you? Life is a bunch of unexpected, (and some expected) events. The way you chose to deal with certain situations that are thrown at you, shapes the person you are. You make your own happiness/unhappiness. Or at the very least, play a part.
.Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? Yes, I have been actually. I am very proud of the person I am when it comes to being a friend. I haven't always been, but I am honest with the people I care about, loyal, always willing to lend a helping hand, or be there if someone needs to talk or cry,and I'll always have their back.
.Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you. What hurts more is that they are near and have the oppertunity to turn a new leaf, and yet they chose not too. When someone moves away, it is not as easy for them to always be there.
.What are you most grateful for? Life, having two healthy, beautiful children, a great husband, a wonderful husband and great friends. I'm grateful for many things.
.Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? Wow, that's really a difficult question. Very difficult. I'd like to say never be able to make new ones, because every day allows for a new and exciting experience (and if it is not so exciting, than it allows for growth, oppertunity, and lessons learned) and because now that I have my children, I would want to remember EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING that goes on with them, but at the same time, losing all your old memories would be horrible as well, because your old memories serve a purpose. They serve as a reminder of where you have been, what you have done, regarding decisions made and also lessons learned and I believe they are part of what makes you who you are, because a lot of those memories influence the decisions you may make today or tomorrow too, and because they are a part of your past and led you to where you are now...so hard to say.
.Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first? Well, being that truth is nothing more than a derivative of logic, I think it can be manipulated into different variations to personally fit the logic of each person individually, because some may accept the truth as a society in whole, while others may deny that truth and present their own variation of it, so with that said, I don't think it's "is it possible to know the truth without challenging it", but rather if you chose to challenge it, in order to know the truth. However, in a different aspect, if you want to know about truth, read the bible.
.Has your greatest fear ever come true? No. I have had many fears come true, but greatest fear has not come true, thank the good lord. When that day comes, I will no longer be here because I simply cannot live without my children.
.Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? Not right now. It is pretty funny how some things seem so big and important and a few years from then, it's nothing more than a memory.
.What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special? I'd have to say that my happiest childhood memory was when my sister's cancer came to pass. Then, it would be disney world, and going to kentucky with my dad when I was real little. I think the first two sentences are self explanatory, and kentucky was special because it was one on one time with my dad, which I needed.
.At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? Recent? When my kids were born. Before that, when i fell in love with Joe.
.If not now, then when? See above.
.If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? opportunity and possibly time.
.Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? Yes, sometimes saying nothing at all, really says more. The saying actions speak louder than words, really is true.
.Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? Simply because religion is pure, and people can be evil. BUT religions don't. The men who followed the religion twisted the truth and decieved others into thinking it was okay, when religion still clearly states that war is wrong. 1Jn 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. And because people are always going to take their beliefs to the extreme.
.Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? Personallly I let my concsious be the guide. I believe if your intentions are good, then you don't have much to be concerned about. BUT on the surface, it may not always be easy to discern, however one SHOULD be able to decide quickly the difference once the delve into whatever issue they are concerning themselves with. If they can't or don't, then I think they have only themselves to blame for any consequences that may result from their VERY obvious lack of judgement.
.If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? No. These days, I'm pretty sure that a million dollars really wouldn't go too far. Not only do I believe you should work for what you have because it builds character and a sense of pride knowing you are doing the best you can, but when it comes to health insurance, bills, taxes, helping out family members and friends (which is how i personally would chose to spend the money), by the time that's done, you will be able to pay some things off but to rely off of that, no. Maybe go down to part time, though. But with proper planning, I'd try to look forward to early retirement.
.Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? More work I actually enjoy doing! Some days, I have my hands full, other's I wish I had more to do.
.Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? sometimes, I do get this feeling. De ja vu. happens a few times a week for me.
.When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? I'm having a little trouble fully comprehending this question, It's late. But if you mean "when did you follow a principle which most people would abandon as too difficult?" Then I would say very few times in life...the cost is high but you keep your integrity.
.If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? Everyone. I think I would have everybody I cared about over!!
.Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? No. Even though frequently wish I was attractive, No amount of attractiveness or fame could EVER take the place of importance when it comes to the quality of life. Life is more important than any of that by a long shot. It goes by too fast to really care about that.
.What is the difference between being alive and truly living? Anyone who has a pulse, and an active brain is classified as being 'alive'. Truly living is freedom, and the enjoyment of life. Those who are truly living embrace life fully and aren't just spectators. They are brave enough to experience everything that life has to offer, wether it be positive or negative.
.When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? Morals, and common sense, and when you know it's right.
.If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? Because mistakes bring pain and guilt, and conjur up negative feelings. We don't like feeling that way, so we try to avoid making mistakes for fear of how it may make us feel, or look to others.
.What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? Not much. Probably just change the way I handle things in certain situations and fix what needs improvement.
.When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? Right now, lol ..
.What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? I love life, even though some days I feel like I don't. When it comes right down to it though, I do love it, it is a gift and I am so lucky to be alive. I love family. I love friends. I love my children and husband so much, I love writing, I love photography, and nature. I love so many different things.
.In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that? I've been told that I do have a good memory. But if it is something that really sticks with me or makes an impression, then yes I am likely to remember.
.Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? It really depends on the situation for me, but I like to make my own decisions because I strongly believe I should be able to do so. It gives a sense of empowerment, and indepence, and you shouldn't have to rely on others. However, when it comes to more difficult decisions to make, I like to seek opinions and keep an open mind.
